About Us

Don Carringer
Don and Belinda Carringer are lifelong stewards of the land, shaped by generations of farming in Western North Carolina. Don’s agricultural roots run deep, having learned the craft alongside both of his grandparents. Both Don and Belinda were active in 4-H, experiences that instilled a lasting respect for tradition, hard work, and thoughtful cultivation.
What began at local farmers markets in 2008 has grown into a farmstead dedicated to quality, seasonality, and craft. Don cultivates a wide variety of vegetables and grows red and white dent corn for traditional stone-ground cornmeal and grits. Belinda creates small-batch jams, jellies, relishes, creamed honey, and apple butter—each made with care and intention.
In 2012, Don expanded the farm by becoming a beekeeper and now tends approximately 30–35 hives during the summer months. In 2022, the Carringers made their permanent home on Beech Mountain and bought their 9-acre farm in Altamont near Newland, fully embracing the rhythms of high-country living.
Today, Don and Belinda are proud vendors at the King Street Winter and Summer Markets and the Beech Mountain Farmers Market. They also supply fresh produce and specialty pantry goods to the High Country Food Hub, participate in regional festivals, such as "Greening Up the Mountains" and Beech Mountain Holiday Market and host intimate farm-to-table dinners on their farm each summer—inviting guests to experience the flavors of the High Country at the source.
